To explain - Vern was a character in Jim Varney's ads for a car dealership in Los Angeles. These 30 second ads were brilliant little comic pieces where Ernest addressed the camera, which stood in for Vern, who apparently hated Ernest in the ads. You had to see them.

If I ever see NC, I should let him know that ALOT of Christmas classics always seem to have the law enforcement try to ruin it. Like the park rangers in ELF and the Police arresting Scott Calvin in Santa Clause and EVEN the SWAT party crash of Christmas Vacation. Yeah way to make an impression on the good ol Police Force for the Holidays Hollywood. :/
