@SailorCull Yup! I'm another Mayflower descendant. I'm descended from both Gov. William Bradford & George Soule.

ugh--the beginning of the end. Intolerant people--not so much the pilgrims, but the people who came after the Puritans who mowed down whole tribes and grew fat and rich off the abandoned land. we reallyneed to free ourselves from myths and see what really happened then. read "people's history of the us" by howard zinn. I actually enjoyed your fairly factual report (like 'sea' view)--of course it does not tell the Indian point of view when these people arrived.

@CALI2TEXBOY You moron. The pilgrims tried to get away of feudalistic European monarchy and its force! But the English crown tried to capture them again! That's been the reason for the first Tea Party! But for you it's easier, to parrot what your selfish government, its socialist agents and the military industrial complex tell you, than to make your own intel. Thousands of your brothers died due to the lie of 9/11 and you still believe what they tell you! google: ae911truth

@rhonda6004 yeah and also tell them that this was the start of the holocaust and all the racist killings!
-
@rhonda6004 WOW, AWESOME, Just think of what you are saying, sure it's nice to take our children to historic places and tell tham what took place there or maybe how many died there because of what took place. But in reality this was part of the beginning of the worst HOLOCAUST on Native American Soil.Worst than the Jewish Holocaust, although they may not think so, But the American Holocaust has been going on for over four hundred years, now that's something you should tell your children, Osayo.

@SailorCull a sad day for the Native American.

Beginning of the end for Indian people! If I was Indian I would have put "Stay Off"

There were boats BEFORE the Mayflower and the Mayflower itself made more trips. The Dutch were there before the English and helped the English go there also, later. There was more than ONE trip of the Mayflower, it was only famous because on that trip a provisional government was set up.

Out of staters, please note the fact that it does not land, or attempt to land, on any rock, Plymouth or otherwise. Stop teaching your school children that "the Pilgrims landed on Plymouth Rock", because it's a monument, nothing more. When I tried going to school out of state and told people I was from Plymouth, MA, the common reaction was, "Oh, like Plymouth Rock?" Same with being disappointed that the rock is small, it's not famous for being huge, it's famous because of what it commemorates
Wow you mention my family. My 15 times Great Grandfather Stephen Hopkins & 15 times Great Uncle Edward Winslow were aboard the Mayflower. The baby Oceanus Hopkins he sadly died aged 7. And Edward Winslow was 3rd, 6th and 10th Governor of Plymouth Colony I'm so proud of that.
