Rally For The Right To Know What's In Our Food

BACKGROUND
The U.S. government, and the FDA do not require anything Genetically Modified (GMO) to be identified on ingredient lists. Genetically Modified foods and products are in widespread use and distribution throughout the U.S. for years. The public is not informed on this. This was done without our permission.

We have the right to know what is in our food. Genetically modified foods should be labeled as well as independent, transparent, long-term studies done on the safety of GMO's for animals, plants, and humans. We want the organic industry protected from cross-contamination and law suits to
organic farmers. GMO's could put our whole eco-system in crisis at some point. GMO seeds don't reproduce naturally and the foods they make (containing pesticides and other chemicals) are not safe nor nutritious.

The FDA currently considers GM foods "substantially equivalent" and therefore doesn't require labeling. No long term studies have been done. There is a growing body of evidence that supporting health and environmental concerns. Corporate control of world food and seed supplies, and monopolization through patents, lobbying and corporate interest over human interest in all levels of government is not a good plan for the future.

The last woman rocks!! She is so right, it is so obvious and simple that we should grow our own food, that it makes us look like silly people - let's do it. Very inspiring. Also, good point about the children today. Unfortunately they are bombarded with bad food, bad air, bad media, bad education...but choice of food can start at home. Thank you Teri and Brian of Soul Secret Service!!
