Rare footage of Vangelis performing an improvisation on synthesizer at his Nemo Studios.
Recording of this performance took place by Spanish Television in 1982, also when Neuronium (Michel Huygen) visited Vangelis to perform together.
Some enhancement of the original tape video with denoising, contrast improvement and color correction.
Sound remastering for better clearity and stereo imaging.
Enjoy! - Nimanty -
See how much he loved his Yamaha CS80, never saw him tweaking it so much through a video, apart the sequencer of the Roland System, this one was clearly his favourite of all times creating a lot of captivating tones in real time

@intermediate007 big part of the warmth comes from the recording equipment and the way the recording has been processed + you can never be as good as the one you are trying to copy

@intermediate007 Musicians in the earlie 80's probably played or "tweeked" their instruments a bit differently and produced the synthesized sound through different filters and speakers wich are no longer in use today. But the old analog recordings vs new digitals are ofcourse the main difference. The old tape recording technique added some noice and "hisses" and cut off some of the hard harmonics in the upper range of frequences. New digital recordings are showing the hard truth more brutaly.

@intermediate007 a large amount of people don't consider the effect of old video recording too. recording old synths with new technology will def sound different than old with old :/
