Yeah, it's terrible isn't it. That's my nephew. I would never let him play anything like that. Mom and Dad let him play that one. But he could be playing Grand Theft Auto at least the one he was playing wasn't a gory shoot em' up game.

you don't need the 35mm adapter to achieve DOF, u just have to know how to mess around with the manual focus and the zoom of the hv20. Also the autofocus button on the lcd. The reason why i'm getting the adapter is because it will make my camcorder look like a pro. haha And it's probably easier to get DOF.

Well, of course you can acheive depth of field with just about any camera. But, with the adapter you can be extremely creative. Using a variety of different lenses 17mm, 50mm, 85mm, you can use extreme telephoto lenses. Don't rely on the adapter to make your videos look professional. A lot of people use the adapter as a crutch for film-like quality. Focus on composition and the purpose/reason for the DOF.
