flash files are what the dealer uses to update or "flash" an ECM.

@smourj21 im still trying, i need to find flash files for a 2nd gen so the software has something to compare the ECM with. in otherwords, read the ECM. i tried using a smarty program that you can download to update your smarty, im close, i need to change 3 letters to lower case and it will work. problem, its all encoded and i cant find those 3 letters lol. i tried unencoding the files but i cant get it to do so. so if anyone knows where i can download flash files for a 98-02 cummins let me kno

altho it is still in the testing stages, im willing to try myself. this isnt for the faint of hearted. you can seriously screw up your ECM, which is why im gunna try it on a spare ECM.

pics from google. and it can allow you to change peak torque and hp in any given rpms within a 200 rpm range. i.e. 1600, 1800, 2000 rpm, etc.) change static and dynamic timing thru out the rpm range. automatic trucks can turn off TQ management completely or turn it down without messing with your gauges like the BD RAD does. i read that you could possibly allow fueling up to 4k. you CAN NOT put any aftermarket boxes, chips, programmers on with this seeing as this totally reflashes the ECM.
