Launch of a rocket designed to carry a 1lb payload to 1 mile in altitude at the Rockets 2010 event in Fredericksburg, Texas. This rocket is a hybrid rocket, utilizing nitrous oxide as the oxidizer and PVC as the fuel. This launch took place on Friday April 23rd 2010. Video shot in high definition.

  • I was working on the launch pad that weekend! Good times.

  • Nice rocket, but not quite transonic (500-600 mph maybe). The whistling is just from the exhaust coming out of the nozzle.

  • Those kids from McGregor sure can make a rocket!

    Awesome video! I think it may have even gone transonic!
