The ending of Shadow of the Colossus is long and well done, the end of it all, with and interactive segment or two that gives "false hope" to the player making them think there might be multiple endings or something. Though it is brilliant and one of the better endings in my opinion.

Part 1/3, part one of three

Shadow of the Colossus, released in Japan as Wander and the Colossus ワンダと巨像, Wanda to Kyozō, is a Japanese-developed action-adventure video game developed and published by Sony Computer Entertainment (SCEI) for the PlayStation 2. The game was released in North America and Japan in October 2005 and PAL territories in February 2006. The game was created by SCEI's International Production Studio 1, the same development team responsible for the cult hit Ico.

The game focuses on a young man named Wander who must travel across a vast expanse on horseback and defeat sixteen beings, known as colossi, to restore the life of a girl, Mono. The game is unusual within the action-adventure genre in that there are no towns or dungeons to explore, no characters with which to interact, and no enemies to defeat, other than the colossi. Shadow of the Colossus has been described as a puzzle game, as each colossus' weakness must be identified and exploited before it can be defeated.

itrs realy hard 2 play....i mean i couldnt even pass the first level and kill that big ass thing LOL how u guys kill that big thing?

@mojometalhead3 Watch your grip guage when climbing the colossi if it starts to get low (the circle in the bottom right corner gets smaller) you need to find a place to rest, if you go up the back their are some ledges you could crouch and rest there to rebuild your grip guage circle strength before going up higher to the top. remember not to let go of the grip button (Triangle) when climbing otherwise you will lose your grip and fall. Once on top, switch to the sword, and find a weak spottostab

is there anyway to kill them? and get an alternative ending? because why else can you play as him? i mean its cool and all but you can only play as him for like 20 seconds and then you die, but you can still hit them and spit fire, i once managed to hit them all with the fist of dormin but when just all fell down and got back up

The Dormin fail in their revenge against these guys and there is no alternate ending. It's to "demonstrate the futility of the situation or something"

Interpretation comes down to each players view of the game and the actions taken, especially during the endings.

@StoneMonkWisdom I once read that when you get on top of the secret garden, you eat the forbiden fruit and your energy meter start to decrace untill it gets verry small. Then you have to play as Dormin in this level and get killed to get an alternate ending.

Anybody tried that?

Sorry, no alternate ending. You can climb up to the secret garden and decrease your grip and hp gauge by eating the fruit there, but it doesn't effect the ending. The Dormin mode ends when you are at half hp, no matter what.

@mojometalhead3 really? LOL for me the giant colossuses are a pice o cake ;)

Just get on the colossus' feet then stab your sword a few times till it drops its hand. climb its hand, reach it's head and then stab again your sword as how many times till you kill it.

and well, thats it! not hard, just try it ;)

I love this game, its the the third or fourth I play it to the end :D I'm allready going to kill Basaran (the 9#) again ^^ I heard there is a second ending, but I don't think so =/ thats will be cool, if there was a second ending :D

@supersperm97 nah. this game has certain links to ico but it's not like.. a sequel if you know what i mean? this game acted sort of as a prequel to ico if anything.
