In this clip from www.artistshousemusic.org - Greg Eveline, an entertainment attorney, and John Snyder of ArtistsHouse and Loyola University, New Orleans discusses why copyrights and copyright law matters to musicians. They discuss who benefits from a copyright and how, what performance rights agencies do, some of the rights that attach to the copyright on a song, the five specific exceptions to a copyright, and run through some examples of how copyrights apply in specific situations (such as a song used in a movie, your song being recorded by someone else, what happens if you infringe on copyright, what work for hire is, etc.), and much more.
When posting this video it would have been great if you would have wrote out the questions the audience were asking in the video. Great info tho.
