How to get out of the Campaign map: Winter Contingency

Getting out of the map here is a fairly simple process, but there are a few bumps along the way.

First off, you're going to need to grab the falcon from just after Rally Point Alpha. If you need help with this, you can check out our previous tutorial here:

Once you have the falcon, fly through the level, until the ending area of the 'main' section of the level (where you defend marines, and get picked up by a falcon).

You'll be able to see a covenant dropship beginning to land in this area once you near it. You should arrive there around the same time that the dropship lowers completely.

Once you get there, take your falcon and wedge it in between the 'arms' of the dropship. [Assuming 'Recon' button layout] You can hold 'RB' to keep the falcon lowered, but this is not necessary.

Once you have the Falcon placed in the dropship, it will begin to take off. Keep the camera facing toward a corner of the inner portion of the dropship to help keep the falcon in place.

**NOTE**: Occasionally the dropship will fly through part of the level geometry (trees, hills, etc), and knock the Falcon out of place. If this happens, simply reload the checkpoint and try again.

Once the dropship get's into open skies, it will approach the level barrier. Once you reach it, the dropship will force you through the barrier. (If the falcon was misplaced, it may force you out. Also, sometimes you will die when being forced through the barrier. This is more common to happen when you have multiple people in the falcon.) It's a very obvious process once you are being through the barrier. You are likely to take a substantial amount of damage during this.

Once you are through the barrier, the dropship will shrink, then deload. You are now free to fly around the map unrestricted. If you wait for a moment once you have been pushed through the barrier, you will likely get a checkpoint. If you don't, there is a way to trigger one anyways.

Additional Notes:

Once you are out of the map, if you wish to trigger a checkpoint, follow the road that curves around the mountain. You'll hit a loadzone, which will also give you a checkpoint.

If you wish to continue on through the level, follow the road that curves around the mountain. You'll hit a loadzone causing the building, and courtyard area to appear. You will need to land in this area, and exit the falcon to be able to continue. **NOTE: If you land and exit the falcon, triggering the dropships to come, then enter the falcon and stay in it until you complete the objective, you will not be able to exit the vehicle.

Once you are out of the map, and flying unrestricted, there are a few areas that you'll need to be wary of. First off, you'll want to stay high up in the air in the immediate areas surrounding the playable-areas. The area surrounding the dropoffs of the playable area, for a moderate distance out, is covered by a death barrier. You'll want to venture out a ways before you descend.

If you play to fly over the playable area, make sure to stay a substantial distance above, or you will be trapped within the barriers.

Be careful when flying near an 'invisible wall' of a deloaded area. You may occasionally hit a loadzone, that can trap you within a barrier.
