  • can i run my nutrient solution through this unit to cool it? I have a water cooler on my reservoir.

  • @TheJuanaBean Yes you can run nutrient solution it is safe.

  • It's all about BTU's of heat vs. BTU's of cooling capacity. With 12-1000w turned to 100% on the ballasts you will be dealing with 48,000 BTU's of heat, which is equivalent to a 4HP Chillking chiller. But, that will not give you any cooling left for the gens, which their heat load will be determined by run time, which is directly related to room dimensions, rate of consumption, and how well sealed the room is. Plus, do you want to use the chiller to a/c the room as well?

  • i recently purchased this unit, but mine came with the battery power source. ( Im not happy about that) but my main ? is what type of c02 controller works best with this unit?

  • @bi11ionairejer Any controller will work. There are upgrade kits for the original HydroGEN to make them 12v with a powercord. Costs $50 and includes the 3x relight ignition, powercord, and wiring harness. Batteries work fine though, we have several thousand out there just like the unit that you have.

  • im looking to purchase 2 of these generators when i upgrade my garden with water cooled lighting but i dont know how large a chiller i will need when i do. I currently have a 12x 1000watt AC lights, all with Lumatec SuperLumens ballasts that i frequently amp up to 1,200watts each. Including the generators (two) how many HP does my chillking need to be? i was guessing 3hp+ self contained unit.

    PLEASE HELP :)

  • @jmurray1106 Yes you can.

  • It is called the PRO model and yes it is currently available, there is not specific part # for it. The water valve and the NG conversion kit are the same.

  • What is the part # for this model. Is it availible yet? Do you use the same water valve and natural gas conversion valve as the older model? thanks for the help.

  • Yes as long as the gas pressure is at least .41 PSI minimum which is national standard. All customers should check their gas pressure before converting especially customers that live in CA, CO, WA, OR, and OH. Most likely in these states the gas pressure will be to low for the unit to work properly.
