  • @Nebelkrieg It's as simple as that when the air enters the intake, it is such a shape (unique shape of course) causing a lot of resonance. Making that chilling sound. I the Vulcan at Dawlish airshow a few years back - what an experience :)

  • @Nebelkrieg - I was at a wedding a few months ago & met a guy who used to work for Rolls Royce .

    He confirmed that the 'howl' is basically a 'whistling' effect caused by the shape of the air intakes sucking the air in.
