  • @SurfGreenStrato 1. the voltage here does not matter at all. What you need to consider for your heat management is the power dissipation. 2. Yes changing the rib structure does matter but not really significant at such small areas. 3. Using a cooler fan with not confirmed characteristics from measurement may change your results brutally.

  • @sivichkiqt Take a lm7405, use it with 7, 9 and 12 volt. Try different heatsinks, measure. Heatsink design does matter. And a lot.

  • this is rediculous. Changing the heat sink design, especially when the area is so small would never bring a dramatic change in the temperature. The fan characteristics are also very hard to predict also. Small turbulence dissipation with pin design variant are really making not much difference, compared to the extruded design. Please solid works- go back to a CFD study and don't blame yourself like that.
