0:03 I think this chick must have posed for Van Gogh's "The Scream."

Just a little moment in an extraordinary film. Nowadays we have so many of such moments and what is embarassing is that people do not notice that or they don't want to notice that. Many films nowadays are made like garbage. That's sad but true

In Katherine Morrison's book on the making of "the Ten Commandments" she says this woman was an Egyptian extra, and was told to react to the chariots. Later on, in California, at Paramount studios, a staff actress dubbed in dialogue that approximated what she was gesturing. Hope this explains this slightly clumsy moment from a terrific scene, and a terrific movie. Regards, Muerte62.

Cecil B. DeMille's silent movie style was carried forward with him over the decades. It somehow fits this great movie perfectly well. Many of his actors were from the silent days as he was extremely loyal to people he had worked with in his past, giving Edward G. Robinson a major role at a time when he needed it most, while he was blacklisted by the McCarthy extremists as a Communist and nobody would hire him. DeMille was a kick-ass director like Hollywood will never know again. RIP CB.

i would have to disagree with your comment Binkie...this was only in 1959 and by that time, movies were well established....and realistic acting in theatre before that yet....and the whole radio comment is just not true

this was a great movie!

To be fair this took place before anyone really knew what acting was. I'd imagine if you showed them a radio they would have freaked out of their sandals.
