You can save out the resultant image as a .hdr file and keep the high definition lighting information. In part 2, I'll show you how to do the same thing with e-on software's Vue 6 Infinite. In part 3, I'll bring either of those images back into 3dsMax and use them as HDRI image-based lighting.

  • funny when I switch to mental ray my shaders are fucked is there a simple one that does it with scanline?

  • real shame that you cant export to quicktime VR with 64-bit, got the power, got the programes, but , quicktime says no!!

  • But even with the HDR or EXR format, until you change your "Frame Buffer Type" from Interger (16-bit) to Floating-Point (32-bit per channel) it isn't a true HDR image, Wouldn't you agree, Guy?
