As far as the lack of expression goes, that's why back when singers used to also act and do playback for themselves, it looked so much more realistic (e.g., Saigal, Suraiya, Noor Jehan, Karan Deewan, Khurshid, Kanan Devi, Rajkumari, etc.).

suraiya & devanand had true love 4 each other but grand mother of suraiya poke her nose in their affair objecting 2 their love so their marriage couldnt b solemnized. the loving pair & couple was thus separated.suraiya didnt marry & till her death & had the full size photograph of dev in her bedroom. dev ultimately married kalpna kartik . twas a gr8 tragedy. the song is very sweet & an xclent composition of s d burman. lata g as usual with honey sweet divine voice make the song immortal.

NO doubt one of the best combination of the Trio of the century. The same song was sung as a cameo song by Late sh. GOLDIE (vijay anand ji) in the not so famous but must see movie CHOR CHOR with no other song besides that
