  • Nice set up.. I'm doing a similar set up. My garage rafters are just like yours, but I'm going to use a 2x6 instead of the 2x4. And the bars coming down, i'm going to have them low enough so i can have clearance above so when I do muscle ups.. Good video man

  • @RAFA7810 that's a good idea for the muscle ups. I will probably have to build a bar outside for that. I am 6'4" with wide shoulders so I can't fit between the rafters easily. Good luck with your set up.

  • You should done a little demonstration of some pull up pimp.. We wanna see the final product in action...

  • @RAFA7810 I'll try to post one in the future...

  • Sacramento?

  • @MoxxyyGB Yep. Sacramento.

  • Good video, you just lacked one thing. You didn't demonstrate any pull ups homie.. Get pulling and show us You Tubers your skills on the bar.

  • bad ass DIY video...diggin the tunes man haha

  • you could have prefabbed that on the floor and then took one side down bar loose and layed it all up.

    just a thot..

  • @Jirafon19 My garage has never had insulation or sheet rock on the ceiling. I have sheet rocked all of the walls. I do not think that it would be a big difference in temperature if you were to cut out an 8X8. Good luck. I am 6'4" and weigh 230 lbs. This bar could probably support 3 of me! Let me know if you have any other questions.

  • Did you find that the lack of insulation in the roof/rafter etc affected the temperature etc in the garage or was it nothing? I'm undertaking this project in the coming months by cutting out 8x8 of the ceiling/drywall that's 8ft 3in high. Looking for the best way to support the bar and have it be as high as possible.
