  • @goper1966 that whole chapter, when taken in context, is clearly teaching that we are justified by faith alone, but that the true saving faith produces works. James is contrasting those who say they are saved, but have no works to show for it, versus those who are truly saved and, out of that faith, produce good works as outward evidence of that faith.

  • lol No, you don't go by historical Christianity. "Another gospel." Wrong kid. We teach the everlasting gospel (Revelation 14:6) of Jesus Christ. "No Jesus plus any human effort" So you're saying Jesus lied when he said we're to do good works? You're saying the Bible lies when it says we'll be judged by our WORKS? We stand on the gospel of Jesus Christ. You are way off with the Bible. Historical Christianity contained temples, prophets, apostles, revelation, etc.

  • And people say we LDS are brainwashed? What about people that say "talk this way to certain people"?

  • I find it amazing that this argument still goes on when the the scriptures tell us that we are justified by our faith and our works. James 2:24 if we are to be justified by our works how can we make no effort and be justified (ie Saved) . this man is the one who is deceived. Sorry but its true. What we forget is that our efforts are miniscule in comparison to what Jesus Christ does for us.

  • @akamasteryoda You have no idea how amazing and giving Todd is. Almost every pastor in a major church is paid. There are a lot of issues in relation to Mormonism expressed in Christianity and even to non-Christians. This isn't the first person to say it, think it, or believe it. You just happened to stumble upon Todd's.

  • @ITakeAStand im sorry but you do not need to SAY that you believe in merited salvation or not, but i know for a fact that MORMONISM separate from your own beliefs believes fundamentally in a salvation based in merit... the only problem is that the entire Bible says that this is wrong.

  • @MrHappiness777 - I'm confused, Yunginspirit didn't say anything about "being good to earn his way to heaven"... He said, Jesus taught if you love him you will keep his commandments... We dont get to Pick and Choose what part of the bible we believe in. In no way shape or form do Mormons think they are perfect, but we love our Saviour and so we do our best to keep his commandments... do you not believe the same?

  • LOL, who gives a shit. Since Christianity is based on mythology. Mormonism is mythology based on mythology. Who gives a fuck. Isn't it all just about trying to be better people. You Jesus freaks are a hoot. You worship a brilliant sexually ambiguous preacher (there is some evidence that he may have been either married or even bisexual) who had a God complex. Stop pointing your dirty fingers at other poor saps who are trying just as hard to make a meaningless existence worth living. Peace.

  • @Yunginspirit it doesnt matter because being "good" will not save you. And twisting doctrine especially wont!

  • @Yunginspirit I know Jesus wasn't deceitful, Mormonism is deceitful. "The Gospel" is free to all, and available to all, all they have to do is pick up the Bible and read it. It's Mormonism that will tell you, "oh no first you have to learn, x, and y, then maybe if you are good enough, and worthy enough you will learn z. "
