SWEETNESS AND THE WOLVES
Candy is her name and sweetness is her game. Life has treated her very harshly, but her nature remains so mild and trusting that she asks for nothing more than a place to live. What she deserves, though, is the most loving home possible, with a person of her own, as sweet and good as she is, to fill her life with happiness ever after.
Candy once lived right across the street from the Spaymart shelter. One day her guardian sold the house and then left with all her belongings except one. When the new homeowner finally moved in with her two dogs, she discovered a terrible odor coming from one of the bedrooms. She was shocked to find a little abandoned cat (Candy) locked inside, with no food or even a litterbox, surviving only on water she drank from a toilet in an adjoining bathroom. The stench in that room was unbearable. The lady immediately opened a window and when Candy flew out, she was very relieved. Her two German Shepherds would not appreciate a cat on the premises. This unwanted animal, she hoped, would run far away. She was angry now. She would have to rip out all these carpets! And new ones were expensive.
But this had been Candy's home. She thought it still was. Very quietly, in spite of the terrible dogs she smelled and the strange woman's coldness, she came back to it. The doors were closed to her now; she but it was the only home the starving cat had. Very secretly, she stole to a shed in the backyard, where she hoped to live or die in peace, if not in comfort.
But the dogs had smelled her. However well she was hidden inside, they had found her and were barking furiously, racing back and forth outside like wolves! The strange woman finally came, opened the door, and found her, too, but thankfully, she shut the door tightly again and shouted at the dogs to stop barking. She must have taken them away and tied them somewhere, because the barking almost stopped and it was farther away. Candy was so scared she couldn't move. She couldn't stop trembling. She was trapped in the shed. There was no way out.
But the lady had rushed to call Spaymart. She told the staff there all about Candy and how frightened she was that her dogs would kill this poor cat. Immediately, Spaymart rescuers came with a trap and good food. Candy was so very hungry, so trapping her was an easy task and she was quickly housed in a warm, comfortable pen at the nearby shelter with as much to eat and drink as she wanted. How relieved she felt to be safe. And how quickly she adjusted to her new temporary home. She seemed only to want to love someone, anyone who spoke to her or fed her or played with her. She liked to just sit at someone's feet, even if they paid her no attention at all.
Candy is such a beautiful girl, inside and out, a long-haired brown tabby with the prettiest white bib and socks. Only three years old, this precious young lady will bring so much joy and happiness to a new guardian for a long while to come. If you have a loving heart and a cozy home (preferably with no large dogs that might not like her), maybe you would consider filling your arms with Candy's special warmth? You could never ask for more sweetness—the kind without calories—in your life.

Awe...she is so sweet. I don't understand how people can be so cruel and heartless towards animals...especially one as sweet as Candy.
