This album came out as a salve for the wound that was the music scene of 1980. Despite the late 70's Indie style, music became trivial again- corporations marketing to the masses. Instead of new fresh art, we get the corporation marketing music again. I became so sick of the focus on trivia like their hair, especially Bono's stupid Eurotrash ponytail. Come to think of it, I'm still nauseated by that incipient faux-humanitarian fraud.

@DrewandBear I like this album more than London Calling, the attractions were a better band and costello a better writer.

He was so comical that just watching is entertainment. He wasn't as popular in the USA as he was in the UK because I look at the years he was popular and we were listening to other guys. Missed out! But it's never too late!

"You won't take my love for tender." , as in "You won't be my prostitute." ?? I just noticed this pun, which had gone over my head for 30 years. EC does have a way of making the listener feel stupid.

Yeah if anyone has .. I don't even care about the energetic videos.. you might think Get Happy had 5 songs on Get Happy .. I think he had at least 20 and the some of the best are not on YT. Le't get the great Man called Uncle, and Five Gears in Reverse and Possession ...
