Just because you lack the intellectual capacity to comprehend and empathize with her emotional turmoil, doesn't make her "Freak of Nature."

You have no proof that she's doing drugs. She's suffering because the world is fucked up, and people treat her badly. How about some empathy for a change?

What's sad is how people in general treat artists and each other. Building up their careers and gloating over their downfall. How about some support and sensitivity when they go through changes? She's a brilliant artist who happens to be in pain over how crazy the world can be. That's where the problem is: WICKED PEOPLE.

She said on Unplugged that she is not a performer. She's not going to dance because YOU want her to. You don't owe her anything.

I guess you conveniently forget all of the reports of her "erratic" behavior both on and offstage..she is an addict..plain and simply.That's why she is trying to intellectualize her aloof behavior, rather than confront her demons and progress forward. She's just playing herself. She's too talented to be acting like this.

I want to point out something you said, "Reports", which means reported, which means, it may not neccessarily be true. She is signed to Columbia for god sakes, that's the worst lable for an African American artist to be signed to, they treat them as products. So she goes off on someone, guess what? That's life, that's human. And that's what she is trying to get everyone to understand.

dmanigo77, you have no proof that she's on drugs. It's pure conjecture. She's raising her kids, being a good mom and a devoted wife; leave her alone! Just because an artist doesn't capitalize on their fame doesn't make them crazy. She's in the league of Erykah Badu, i.e. conscious artists.

Lauryn Hill is amazing. I think she broke out of being a gimmick, before it happened. I am proud of her and I want her to do whatever makes her happy. And she is.
