futureannouncer and thetreasurehunter21 present fossil hunting in NJ. if anyone can tell me anything on the finds it would be greatly appreciated. i don't think we found anything spectacular. but i think anything from something that is extinct is cool. Also if anyone knows that monkey song on the radio toward the end of the video please leave a comment.

  • cool finds !

  • @MichaelSwan66 thanks, I was satisfied. I wish it was closer so i could go everyday. hopefully i'll get to go back soon

  • The mystery fossil is the endocast of a bivalve. I've found a few of them myself. You don't always find both halves though. The piece you thought was a copalite, looks like fossilized feces, but I could be wrong.

  • @historyhunkjoe thanks a lot i was trying to find out what that was since i found it! and i thought coprolites were fossilized poop. i found a picture of fossilized shark poop and it looks the same. thanks again for telling me what the mystery fossil was! i didn't think i would ever figure it out.

  • very nice crow tooth but was that all u found? that wasnt alot for waking up at 7 in the morning just 1 sharks tooth and 3 or for other but great crow non the less things

  • @sharktoothking10 lol. yeah well we had to drive a couple hours to get there and we didn't really know where we were going. the water was freezing and i didn't have waders or gloves so my hands and feet would go numb every minute or so. where we were you can only "harvest" 5 fossils per day. but when i get waders or summer arrives i will be back there so i can actually do work. oh and you could only use 6 inch trowels no shovels. plus i'm a rookie. sorry to disappoint.
