Galveston has come back a long way since this storm. The city has done a great job rebuilding the island.

@Avatarblackwolf You can't argue with any of the fucktards from NO. After half of them came to Houston the crime rate went up over 20%, but none of 'em want to admit that. Many of the transplants were seen using FEMA money to buy useless crap and go out to strip clubs. After that dipshit Kanye said Bush did'nt like black people you would've thought GWB ran accross the bay in his Klan uniform and threw a hand grenade at the levee's by the reaction the poeple of NO had.

He doesn't want to get in the emergency crews way, huge difference between him and that news station i bet...

@barkley4455 its not my fault you are a dumbass. I never said anything about race, skin color, black or white.
You ASSume that all of the people in New Orleans are black? Who is racist? What a dumbass.
You can always tell the racist, they are the 1st to play the race card.
After Hurricane Ike The good citizens of Galveston got together, got organised, and got busy. By contrast the "good citizens" of New Orleans did nothing but cry and wait for the federal government bureaucracy to mismanage, mishandle, and spend untold millions and then be soundly and roundly criticized for their half-hearted effort
Just proves you can get more accomplished with a hammer in your hand than a crack pipe.

no it does look different. If you lived here you would know the difference. Yes.. so much has been done to help it build back up but SO much is gone too! It is very different still but being open to public and tourists is great... Galveston can & will rebuild 100%
