@tisiluca You haven't heard the recent news about London then; got kind of screwed up by riots. I'm not a US hater, I simply fear an armed populous who is blindly proud of their bruised country. To me; that's dangerous; hence I won't visit. I highly recommend however, that you travel a bit and see the world; expand your understanding of other cultures and places. Heaps of nicer spots abroad than at home; though for me home is where the family and close friends are.

i looked prety hard at multiple sites and it looks like usa one of the safest countries in the world !!
Its apparent you are a USA hater and we all here like it if you just stayed out of OUR country !! Most likely you are a liberal/commie and we dont like your kind !! we like citizens who like guns, armed populous is a nice populous !! Try London !! safe there for you !!

@tisiluca Read my last comment again and the chart desription on the site. I was afraid you might ignore half of the data/description. It's already a per capita thing. 11.9 million crimes PER 100,000 people. That makes the US the MOST unsafe. No doubt guns have something to do with that. Why else should a "civilised" nation have higher crime than a developing country? Read the chart description. US = most unsafe.

ok my dear european checked out your site;
first off it says " reported crime " what about countries who dont report accurately because not so technically advanced
usa total crimes.....11.9 million out of 310 + population ............3.8 %
england total crimes...... 6.5 million out of 61.8 million .......... 10.5 %
germany total crimes...... 6.2 million out of 81.8 million ......... 7.6% etc.........
it looks like usa seems to be the safest !

@tisiluca By the way, don't you dare get started about the indigenous people we oppressed when we arrived in Australia: unfortunate as it was and its ongoing ramifications, when the US was founded on indigenous oppression too, as well as slavery. There's very few clean histories for British colonized countries. We all stemmed from the same spot.

@tisiluca I never said that I thought highly of my own country, yet in my corner of the world I'm content and safe. Currently, I've been living in Germany for a few months. I feel just as comfortable. From what I've seen and heard of the US, I honestly don't have the guts to go there. I'm sure there's many peaceful spots, but I wouldn't know where to look. As for misleading numbers, excuse me for believing this site: "mapsofworld". Google "Top ten countries crime rates". Rate is per 100,000 ppl.

and they dont allow us to round up all the minorities like you guys did with the aberigonesse people !!!!!!!
your aussi land aint all that great, you just think so !!!
we just have to deal with what we have and that is that !!!
-
i think you comparing apples to oranges !! how many murders per capita !!! what is the percentage ??
just numbers are misleading, what is the population of australia and does australia take in all the rifraf of the world !!!!!
those are important facts to consider when one makes blanket statements !!
example..... japan... less crime.... single race, respect for each other, respect for their heritage
usa.......... all trash no respect 4 noone
