Do you not understand that the state will always try to expand its power, and thus in the process make the people less free? Governments killed over 250 million people in the last century alone. Government exists through force and coercion, and reduces individual freedom and liberty.

@martynrobin121 You're mistaken, it is not the most free nation. The UK government disarmed the people many years ago. A man can never be truly free unless he is armed to defend himself against criminals and tyrannical regimes. The UK is pretty much a socialist country - the myriad of rules and regulations that the people have to follow do not equal freedom. The fact that government coerces individuals to give over money through taxes does not equal freedom. Only a libertarian society is free.
