  • Thanks for all the comments. I did this video for speech class.

  • I don't use the oven "shelf" for grilling or roasting anything. They make pans with stand off, removeable cooking grills for that. Get one. Beats the heck out of washing oven shelves in the sink. ;-)

I like that the only things you put on the steak were kosher salt, fresh ground pepper, with a sprinkle of olive oil. The ONLY way to cook a great steak IMHO.

Over all, a good vid dude.

  • Thanks for the feedback and the advice!

  • Camera should have been tilted a bit down to show the steak.

  • Thanks for the feedback, the camera on my laptop was not the best choice. It is the only camera I own though.

  • 1. best way to cook steak at home is on a griddle pan

    2. dont rest meat for up to ten minutes as it will go cold, maximum 5 mins, depending on which cut you use

  • Thanks for the feedback and advice! I also cook my steaks in a cast iron pan which works well if you do not own one of the others.

  • @kendoll76 awesome, thanks for this video. If it was for speech class, my opinion is that you seem to speak better when not reading. Ok, off to cook my steak!

  • that is wierd

I couldnt take my eyes off that clock

    its hypnotic

  • Great video ! Thanks for helping an old Grandpa stay out of the steak house. I haven't found one yet that knows what medium rare is ! You should do more videos, I for one will be watching ! I agree on the rib eye also ,I prefer them to T bone . Thanks for your time and Information.

  • The higher temperature you cook your steak at, the less of it will be cooked the way you like it.

  • 145f is definitely verging on a medium-well done steak.

One way to achieve a perfectly cooked medium-rare steak is to give the outside a very hot and quick sear, and then transfer into an oven pre-heated to around 230f until the internal temperature hits 135f.

I'd also recommend the beer cooler method or if you're feeling a little more fancy sous-vide. These methods ensure that as much of the steak as possible is cooked to the correct done-ness.

  • didn't show the final result of color, juice stc, and there was too much talking......

  • And then he rubs it in!! Meat RUB!
