Snooky Lanson sings "Love & Marriage" on a 1955 New Years Eve episode of Your Hit Parade. Lanson plays a creepy Father Time singing amidst background dancers dancing to the human history of marriage, complete with neanderthals of course!
"Love and Marriage" was introduced by Frank Sinatra in the 1955 television production of Thornton Wilder's Our Town that aired on Producers' Showcase. Sinatra went on to record two versions of the song. The second version was recorded for Reprise Records on October 11, 1965. The Capitol version would later be used as the theme song for the long-running 1980s/1990s sitcom Married... with Children.
