Ludovico Einaudi: 'Quel che resta', from album 'I Giorni'

This is the published piano version (2001). I believe that the title of the piece derives from 'Quel che resta del giorno', the Italian title of Kazuo Ishiguro's best-selling novel 'The Remains of the Day'. The Italian edition was actually published by the Einaudi publishing house founded by Ludovico Einaudi's father, Giulio Einaudi. In her Amazon review of the album, Rebecca Agnew finds parallels between this piece and the music of Satie and Michael Nyman (in particular his score for 'The Piano').. Einaudi gives the tempo marking 'Scorrevole', meaning 'flowing', and in this performance I have deliberately taken quite a brisk tempo, as the underlying phrases are long.

le musiche di einaudi sono molto semplici e al tempo stesso complesse da eseguire. se suonate troppo velocemente o troppo lentamente sembrano quasi una ripetizione di note tutte uguali e noiose. dovresti rallentare, secondo me il mio modesto parere e renderla più dinamica.. non so...lavora anche sugli accenti. nn la suoni da 3/4. comunque bella :)
