With only 300 miles on the car we made our way up to Palm Beach International Raceway to make a few baseline runs with the new car. I got up there and our driver Derek Perez was already there waiting for me. The place was empty. Only a few cars and trucks which was good for us as we could get a bunch of runs in without having to wait in long lines. The weather was 83 deg and still very humid and muggy from the rain we had all morning and afternoon. For the first few runs we kept the tire pressure which I believe was 40+psi. Derek took it real easy as he wanted to get used to the new car. I believe the last time Derek took our 08' down the track it was making over 250rwhp more than our 2010 is. So it was basically starting from scratch. With a few high 12.90's and low 13's Derek started getting the hang of it. We lowered the air pressure down closer to 30psi. Once the tire pressure was lowered we cracked off some 12.70's. A 12.77@112.56 and our best of the evening 12.74@112.29. We only spent about 2 hours at the track and called it a night.

Being that we ran a best of 12.68 with our 08' completely stock in the winter I feel pretty good about the times we put down. I'm sure with a little more seat time and 30deg cooler air temps we would have definitely beat the 08's times. However we won't see any cooler weather for a few more months.

Our plans are to take the car over to our good friends at UPR and do some dyno testing. We plan on running the car on the dyno completely stock. Then we'll put a mild tune on and then an aggressive one. Lastly after we've documented those runs and compared times we'll be putting on one of our Lethal Performance offroad x-pipes and see how the car reacts. I really like the sound that the 4" tips make during acceleration but the car is definitely too quiet. I'm hoping that when we put the offroad pipe on it will give us that aggressive sound that the car is dying to make.

Shortly after that we'll be doing the entire rear suspension with a whole bunch of parts compliments of Scott Boda at Steeda Autosports.

  • 40+ psi in tires yeah right!

Factory is 32 psi so why would anyone raise pressure to 40+.

  • My bad. I didn't realize it was 32 stock. However the car was run on the stock air pressure for the first several runs.

  • people who hate on cars like this are fags

  • the plastic on the bottom makes it look gay

  • hey dipshit. Is6cobra or whatever the hell your name is. "cobra" is a type of mustang. so your name is contradicting to yourself. And ima country boy from cropwell alabama and just bought a 2010 gt500. and I also have more money than your entire family put together. so i aint an inbread redneck and I like a mustang. somethin wrong with that?

  • Yes I do know what a ring and pinion gear set is and If you noticed I was fucking with dipstick the whole time. I was extremely drunk! at the time and he annoyed me so I was just saying anything I could just to piss him off ...worked didn't it ...lmfao!

C'mon seriously bud, I'm not exactly some smart ass kid like... ls6cobra for example. Kids think because they can stuff a cold air intake in a car they are some kind of authority most can't even change their fucking oil mommy pays for it.

  • @JAG03064, planetary gear? Are you kidding or are you serious? You do realize the rear differential gearing is a ring and pinion, don't you? A planetary gear set has a sun gear and planetary gears that rotate around it. You won't find that in any "pumpkin"

  • would diff. tires have helped this run out?

  • Oh you do know dick alright and it has nothing to do with cars Twinkles.

  • @JAG03064 Im comparing the suspensions lol and trying to show you how worthless Mustangs are even in a straight line, I know a lot of people thing there soo BADDD ASSS but there garbage in every single aspect there built on the same platform as they where in the 60s, no one but in bread red necks like them any one with a real knowledge knows this. And so what if I misspelled a word you don't know dick about cars. Planetary gears for the "uninformed" you mean you?

  • You can't compare a Corvette to a Mustang (poor comparison) they are two different animals, try a GT... and I'm not your buddy......the word is "differential" if you're going try to say it with authority at least know how to spell it. Spell check might help.

  • @JAG03064 OK see cars also need to turn and the fact of the matter is stock mustangs dont do that as well as lets say a vett with IRS, they hop pretty bad on hard corners and it slows them down, there good for straight line driving sure but not every road is straight. Oh and buddy Planetary gear sets are in automatic transmissions not differentals thats what gives you your different gear ratios with in your transmissions, I think what you where trying to say is Ring and pinion gears maybe??
