I first discovered John Prine in 1991. After setting the vcr to record an episode of the American Show 'Town and Country'.I watched it after coming home from a couple of beers in the early hours of sunday morning. John performed this song solo with acoustic in hand and my jaw dropped not from the beer( well maybe,he,he) but also from the song. I became an instant fan from that moment on. Prine is from Illinois and is married to an Irish lady. Great taste indeed John! I totally love his understatedness in delivery, his profuond lyrics and great gravelly voice in much of his songwriting. I'm a big fan. Rock on Prine..
I loved him immediately as well. Bravo! Well done.

I signed in to Youtube to comment on this video. This is one of the better covers I've found. Your playing and your singing, bravo.

You look so much like John Prine...his younger years. Your voice is sincere and touching. I love John Prine..seems something was missing in his life...some shadow of sadness cast over him in so many of his songs. What a beautiful gift his songs are to the world, and with you to keep them breathing out the life and story ....Thank you.....thank you. :)

Beautiful picking. Not familiar with JP, one of the good things of YT is being exposed to music one has not heard. Thanks my friend.
