Tribal Practice

This is my beginner tribl class performing to Remember the name. This choreography was inspired by moves from Rachel Brice, Zoe Jakes, and many hip hop videos on you tube. Its not very good quality and the number is still alittle rough but ill post the show and you can tell us what you think. Thank you.

it's a little hard to see the hip movements because of the video quality, unless it's what they are wearing that obscures the movements i'm not sure. It might be good to incorporate some more different arm movements or positions. it looks like their arms get tired at different points and it ends up looking a little less uniform. other than that it's great. i like the traveling formations and the music choice was interesting.

Yeah, I agree. It was my firts one so I wasnt sure what todo. I had only so much I knew how to teach, but thats gotten a bit better. The video quality is bad due to the fact that im taking it with a 3mp camera...thanks for the comment!

So what's up with the finished product? When do we get to see? Also, would you mind if I attempted to learn/modify this dance a bit for a private performance (like a friend's birthday party in his apartment, nothing public)?

OH wow! sorry ive been so busy with my new number i forgot to post the performance. The truth is i recorded this video with my digital camera and the performance is on a tape...im not sure how to upload that...im getting closer to figuring that out. About the performance, im so glad you asked me first! I dont mind its on the internet so I figure I cant stop people from useing parts of it. (I use other vids as inseration myself) So if you want to give it a shot, go for it.

this kind of dance is great...very inspiring fusion of the most esoteric of world dances, and freedom...i can see how frisco is a wonderful, future-engendering mecca, and am happy that so many things merge into new culture...i worked for dance companies for years ('88-2000) and always felt there was a need for new tendencies...modern and classical are definetely museum pieces....no matter who does it...it is past...cultural merging, new world visions, that is where we CAN go ...this does!.

either way, the speed at which they are dancing does not match the song beats and I just simply think that dancing with a song that has lyrics is more fun. Not saying anything bad, just commenting.

i do not think they did anything to Fort Minor, the speed they are dancing doesn't match the song. the beat is fine but i also think that since the words are taken away it takes away from the song. i personally find it more fun to dance to a song that has lyrics then one without.

but all in all i think the class is fine. no reason to be harsh on beginners! we were all there once.
