  • The colder the liquid, the less of it will crystallize. Works best with boiling water. Would work well this morning; it is -39C with the windchill...

  • That was incredible...i first thought it was a magic trick of some kind but now...i...was that just regular old coffee in regular old freezing cold wintery Winnipeg?

  • Yep - Unfortunately it was very real. Stay tuned... We're planning more of these to illustrate how cold it gets here. If any of you have suggestions of what you'd like to see, please post.

  • how cold was it when u did that?

  • About -30C or so.

  • @NachraLigre but how can you go out there?

    did your hands freeze or.......

  • gotta say wpg is the coldest place ive been to .. awesome city thou

  • I hope that wasn't a Timmys

  • @pixbun me too:)

  • @serloinz That makes perfect sense. I moved to Ontario a couple of years ago, and whenever people ask about how cold Winnipeg is my response is exactly that.

  • SWEET SO DOING THAT TOMORROW! this better not be a trick and i end up scalding some innocent bystander.

  • @serloinz nope, not a pussy, I grew up in Toronto, lived in England and WPG, now in Saskatoon (-33C today with -43C wind chill!), and I feel colder in TO and UK too, it's the moisture like you said. In the prairies dress appropriately and your fine. Moisture just seems to creep in no matter what you're wearing.

  • Will it do the same thing if you have cold or room-temperature coffee? I'm curious to see...

  • @icecastles

I must have been asleep; I meant Yellowknife, which was -28C at the time.
