Awesome music!

An excellent recording of a well-loved composition! Thank you!

I myself grew up with the Karajan 1965 recording of this awesome piece, but this interpretation is quite insightful (especially given the fact Collins had consulted Sibelius himself as had Beecham).

the best version i've heard. Outstanding

Very powerful! (my hair is standing on end.) You're sure this is not Sibelius himself conducting? (of course not. But it might have been.) (I know what I'm talking about. My grandfather´s brother was a pupil of Sibelius.)

Anthony Collins did consult Sibelius on performing his music in 1952 when Collins made his first Sibelius recording for Decca.

@spacepatrolman Collins consultation was by phone and letter, he never visited Sbelius. Beecham championed Sibelius and Delius when they were almost unknown and as a result was welcomed with visits to them. Basil Cameron was the only British conductor that was a personal friend of the Composer.
