This test went absolutely perfectly. We used our original tapered graphite insert nozzle, with a 5/16" throat diameter. Oxidizer was 20 cubic feet of oxygen gas, charged fully to 2400PSI and dumped through a 1/4" ball valve. Textbook supersonic thrust developed immediately, resulting in a perfect string of mach discs (evidence of thrust traveling faster than the speed of sound). We only burnt out 50% of the fuel, the test was cut short when the throttle control spring was melted by the heat. Time to get the body ready for a launch!
@engolas88
that was oxygen gas flowing through paraffin wax and ABS plastic tubing.

What fuel did you use for that. Nice job

Ha ha. I wanted to do it without staking it into the ground but pulling on the string made it tip a lot so we ended up jamming some rebar down at an angle into the dirt to hold it all *somewhat* still :P. I think at this point we are a little more concerned with getting the body ready so we can actually get something off the ground!
