The client shows us Kengo Kuma's addition to a 1950s New Canaan, Connecticut, house designed by local architect John Black Lee. Architectural Record first featured the original house in a 1957 issue.

Just fantastic. This is a very respectful addition to the original. Kudos to Kengo Kuma and the homeowner for recognizing the history of the home but at the same time not treating it like the holy grail. Great work guys.
