  • Nice piece and very nice performance! Is it tuned like a 'regular' guitar or is it tuned as a guitar capo'd at the 5th fret? Also, what was the name of the piece? Is it in print? Please don't say your were 'just' noodling around.

Lot's of questions. Thanks in advance.

Normally the Guilele is tuned up a 4th (same as a guitar with a capo at the 5th fret), A D G C E A (low to high). For the demo video I tuned it to G D G C D G . One of the great thing about these instruments is that you can really experiment with different tunings to get great new sounds… and yes I was just messing around…

    Hope that helps!

  • @CordobaGuitars So your tuned as a Terz [minor third or 3rd fret]. I use this tuning on a Takamine travel guitar as it gives the best tone. I would love one of these. I have a Cordoba Gypsy Kings Studio and it is fast becoming my GO TO Guitar. It is great. I also play uke - mainly tenors, and am happy to have a 1T Martin. But, I would like to explore the Cordoba's Ukes sound...I love that Cordoba tone and punchy response. My GK studio has some bearclaw in the spruce top - exciting! So cool...

  • I love mine!

  • what song is this??

    it sounds great

  • Well, I wouldn't make this up for sure! I had this prototype send to a store in Hamburg Germany yesterday, willing to buy it. No cutaway and WITH electronics. At first I thought: Cool! I get the prototype! But it sounded too weak. I hope the real production is a different story, because that prototype didn't convince me at all. But of course, others might like it.

Not sure where you tried out our Guilele - it's not in stores yet! Our final prototypes haven't left product development. This video was not mastered in any way - we used a simple mic plugged directly into a laptop with no EQ. Rest assured that the final product will sound even better than this prototype.
