Little Paolo appears with a message from down in the village: Signore Bambo, the baker, is overwhelmed by the holiday orders and needs his daughter's help at the bakery. Big Anthony feels sorry for Bambolona but learns that he, too, will be asked to work hard because Strega Nona always gives a big feast for the village on Christmas Eve and will need Big Anthony's help to prepare. Based on the book by Tomie dePaola. Adapted for the stage by Thomas W. Olson. Music composed and directed by Alan Shorter. Directed by Tomie dePaola and Jon Cranney. Commissioned and first presented by The Children's Theatre Company of Minneapolis, MN, 1987. Featuring Adam Kolman Marshak as Little Paolo.
