I've now uploaded a second version of this film with the original ambient sound of the fireground. Hopefully the quality has improved slightly as well.

Just for interest I may do a new edit of this fire with the original ambient sound and no music. You will get more of a feel of the atmosphere. Also the sound of the oil and chemical drums exploding and the camera shake where the operator jumps every time there is a large bang! Watch this space!

I don't know how many pumps they made. I will e-mail the Sub Officer in charge of the first attendance to see if he can remember. I would imagine 6 or 8 with relief pumps later. I would have filmed more but it was an early 8mm camcorder and the batteries were flat.

You will see Sub Officer Rob Sowerby, Fm John Nutley, Fm Rob Ellis (Pump Operator) Fm Jon Simmonds as well as Divisional Officer Mel Denman.
