Hi! Its marioandluigi1992 again! U remember when I commented 2 years ago?. Anyway, we are thinking of getting my mum a Cavalier puppy for her birthday in August. Are they good dogs to have? We also have a cat who is quite timid, but we had an assistance dog (Labrador) called Ulan, and she was fine with him! Are Cavaliers good with cats? Thanks and nice vid once again!

Hiya, yes they are very good dogs to have but I am slightly one sided with that lol! Cavaliers can be good with Cats as long as you introduce them immediately as a pup I wouldn't leave it long. Cavalioers are wonderful family dogs and they love human attention generally, Good luck and hope you get a fantastic dog soon

they are so cute! Don't you just love having more then one? they are just hams together! I laughed with the short hair, not use to seeing cavaliers with it, though I do plan on trimming my guys in a few weeks, they look cute with their hair cuts!

@ZetamoonAmos - We have their hair trimmed puprely for comfort as they get hot in the summer and this helps keep them cool, As we do not show them we are ok with trimming them.

@stuartrossy1 do cavaliers shed alot? do they have the doggy smell? i would love to own one (or two..) but no one really gets in depth in what its like to own a cavalier :(

@faceforyourNerves Hiya, well Cavaliers can shed hair but I would not say it is not manageable, with regular grooming and care they do not have a very doggy smell. But most dogs do have a certain smell however and this is something you should be aware of but I would not say they are very smelly as long as you keep them fairly clean after very muddy or wet walks etc.

@marioandluigi1992 Cavaliers get on very well with Cats - we have three older cats (14 - 16) and three Cavaliers - they all get on just fine, do feed them separately though :) The cats snuggle up to the dogs during winter.
