Rep. Marsha Blackburn from TN speaks during the "Guerilla Congress" the GOP is holding on energy issues while the Democrats take a five-week vacation. While Republicans are trying to get the leaders of the Democratic party to hold votes on energy issues in order to solve problems, the Dems literally turned out the lights and closed the doors so they could go home.

  • No cledus. Being dems does not make them unAmerican. Being unAmerican makes them dems.

  • Obama supports the bipartisan New Energy Reform Act. McCain opposes it.

The New Energy Reform Act has four basic components:

-- Opens additional areas for drilling, while preserving national treasures like ANWR.

-- Dedicates $20 billion to R&D alternative fuels.

-- Creates tax incentives to save energy.

-- Closes tax loopholes for big oil.

If you can afford $520 Ferragamo shoes, you can afford to play politics with the energy crisis. But I'm glad Obama is looking for real solutions now!

  • You obviously don't know Rep. Blackburn. All she does is speak in platitudes and talking points. She doesn't have any original thoughts of her own. Being from TN, any time you hear her speak, it's just buzz words. I understand most Republicans believe them, but she didn't end up at her thoughts through independent thinking. She got those ideas because she thinks that that is what conservatives are supposed to think and say.

  • My bad. I misunderstood.

  • "Rep. Blackburn must have been given her daily talking points"

That is pathetic. Anytime a republican speaks out on conservative issues, the Libs say "talking points". Do they not understand that there are core issues that many conservatives believe in, and just because many of our issues are the same, does not meant that we are adhering to some make believe talking points.

Talking Points - you can't be stupid enough to actually believe this.

  • The comment refers to how the people in the audience are there in the role as normal, average people, not being paid to be there as stooges. Someone cheering as a spontaneous member of the crowd is a little more genuine than a paid, partisan staffer being directed to "boo" by his Democratic boss.

Of course Democrats are Americans; they're just wrong on this issue.

  • Rep. Blackburn must have been given her daily talking points.

  • Democrats are real Americans too. Just because they're in the other party doesn't make them un-American.

  • The misinformed idiot says: H.R. 6578 Consumer Energy Supply Act. Now it's your turn to feed me some GOP B.S.

  • You go GOPers! Fight for the American citizens ! Nancy and her crew take those personal jets and disregard the American people you work for because you were afraid to lose on this bill. Watch and remember people! You have the vote and you can tell Nancy and her crew by your vote to go home for good.
