What a wonderful clip! Another example of how anyone can sail something sometime. No excuses. This looks a delightful way to get some fresh air under sail and explore new places on a shoestring. Love it Dylan!

Lovely video(as usual)and great boat.
I'm surprised to see so much weed in the canal, especially as it's winter.
Power boats must suffer a lot of fouled props.

car toppable - easy. the note is bigger than a polo. The boat is 15 foot long. The plans are on my website in the gallery section - although a stitch and glue version is being worked on at the moment.

Dylan, Is you paddle tied to the boat in some way? You would'nt want to lose it!.
I love that sailing concept! ;)

@KeepTurningLeft Make sense to me!.... I see also that you boat does'nt have or need leeboards or anything to prevent leeway. Am I right?

@OldJong it is a little miracle - it really will sail in six inches of water. It does reward good technique - if you look at the next film you will see that I am on a learning curve here. I also managed to break it. Keep you eyes open for an Opti rig and build one.
Incidentally ..... garage floor paint is wonderful. The boats are supposeed to be painted the grey of a kittiwake's back

It is difficult sailing canals as the buildings and trees block the wind. sailing close to shore and not knowing what is around the bend is hard to beat for something to do. The people lliving on the banks should pay you a tax for making their canal look so much fun.

@mrhulot101 it is great sailing the canals - so much to look at - no waves - great history and this little beauty is a doddle to paddle
