Bulgaria Drum Solo

The goal of this drumset composition was to get at the inner turmoil george lucas faced during the 16 year gap between the space opera RETURN OF THE JEDI and the amazing release of Episode I: The Phantom Menace. The 16 year period started off kind of rough, then went through a few things, then builds, and then climatically reaches the pinnacle of sweet desire with the realization that amazing light saber duels can, and in fact will be, acheived for the masses and enjoyed by young padawans worldwide.

In all actuality, this is taken from the song "Bulgaria" by peter erskine and performed by lawrence university jazz ensemble (luje) during the spring 2008 concert. Lawrence Conservatory of music is fortunate enough to have the amazingly talented Fred Sturm as the director of Jazz Studies and the Jazz Ensemble. Hope all is well and have a nice day.
