Tricia: Hi Tony and Hey everyone
Tony: Tricia Bowl season is upon us as they kick off this weekend. Do you have a favorite bowl game?
Tricia: I mean, obviously- because its local for me- Im a big Rose Bowl fan- I was actually at the Rose Bowl last weekend for the USC/ UCLA game but ya, I think Penn St. vs SC is going to be a great game
Tony: OK now its time for Tricias Chick Pick. Lets pick the St Petersburg Bowl this Saturday. Memphis takes on South Florida with the South Florida Bulls 12 ½ point favorites. How do you see it?
Tricia: Take Memphis with the +12 1/2 point spread over South Florida. I think this game is going to come down to offense. And, at the end of the season, South Florida struggled offensively, failing to score more than 20 points in their final 5 games. On the other hand, since the addition of junior running back Curtis Steele, Memphis has become one of the nations top rushing teams. Im definitely with Memphis to take this victory home.
Tony: I like Memphis plus the points as well. South Florida was overrated this season. Matt Grothe for all his hype threw 15 TDs with 14 interceptions on the season.
Tricia: I know- and 11 of those picks were in the last 5 games. And his yards dropped from 872 last season, to 508 this year.
Tony: I dont like backing cold teams in bowl games. South Florida lost 4 of their past 5 games. Does the location concern you? South Florida is playing in nearby St Petersburg?
Tricia: You know, I dont think location affects Bowl Games as much as it does regular season games. It seems like fans are always willing to travel that extra distance to see their teams play one last time.
