but I love this game, and I can't get past the mechanical level (not sure what the name of it is) on Arcade mode -_-

Accident Road claims another victim. :P That was pretty good that you made it to Stage 7. Back then when I was playing this game a lot, Arcade mode was no sweat, only a hit to my Reduce Shield every now and then. For some reason, Gradius III is a lot harder now. :) Nothing compares to the Arcade version, though. That's near-impossible. :(
