A little Maurer guitar from the 1920's, built by the Larson brothers, gets to know its big modern brother, a Euphonon replica dreadnaught built by Frankie Montuoro. Pick first, then fingers. I like 'em both.
Two completely different instruments, and both sound amazing! Speaking for myself, I wouldn't waste 2 seconds comparing them. Instead... I'd spend hours enjoying their own unique differences. I'll be ordering a Montouro next year, though I'm still walking the fence on my model choice.
Both are great guitars.I find that the vintage Mauer has more sparkle, clarity and richness on the tone. The Montuoro sounds very mature and vintage for a new built guitar, and it's warmer.EIR adds more bass.

The tonal qualities of the Montuoro really grow on you quickly. Lovely guitar. I prefer it. There's a bit of a snap to it.
