VerticalJumping.com's amazing home made squat flex device. It offers so much more than just hack squats and is way cheaper. http://www.verticaljumping.com/squat_flex.html

  • One of the main benefits of using resistance bands is that you can perform the movement much faster. With free weights you can't due to momentum....it can be dangerous. I have dislocated a shoulder in the past due to momentum and yes, bad form. Now I use resistance bands and can go as fast as I like. Try going that fast whilst squating huge amounts of weight.

  • @Markhypnosis1 I would never argue with the merits of using bands for power development, but what I argue with is the cost of the Squatflex and the ridiculous claims made by JumpUSA about it.

  • can YOU jump high though?

  • @DjGoGo09 relatively speaking, yes I can. Here on Youtube I have a video of me with a running vert of about 33 inches. Since that video I have probably added another 3 inches to my running jump. Not bad for a 36 year old white guy.

  • @VerticalJumping well, im starting to realize being white, or any color REALLY does not matter. im white too! :P

its about the proper form and muscle activation, oh and of course that you were playing sports since your a kid, which most black people do, and that contributes to their athleticism. lots of factors, nutrition, sleep, rest, stress...

if your 36 and can jump 3 feet, i got only one question for you? what do you eat for your joints? lol, how do you keep your joints healthy?

  • @DjGoGo09 I actually had to stop training for about 9-10 months due to sore knees. Now I am more careful with what i do. I actually have an article about how to prevent knee pain at VerticalJumping The second installment will be posted next week.

Actually I do have a job, I am performance coach here in Australia who specializes in vertical jump and speed development for athletes. I have worked with athletes of all ages, types and experience including recently with one of the Harlem Globetrotters.

  • @BIGGWILLESTYL show some repsect mate for a guy who knows more about the science behind vertical jumping than you do.

  • @VerticalJumping haha bigwillestyle got owned, thanks for this vid mate i was wondering if squats like this would have the same effect. im only 5'4 but have always been able to jump. when i was 17 i could get the rim off one or two feet, my reach is only 6'7", i can just about get the rim again after a long (10 year!) layoff from playing, iv gone from not being able to get the backboard to almost getting the rim in 4 weeks, hopefully be dunking soon now that i know how to excercise! cheers!

  • @VerticalJumping I did make one. It cost me: $0. Maybe I'll post a video of it.
