so lets say minimum the output is 48VDC x 20A (assuming correct) = 960watts
...Input is 110VAC x 2A = 220watts
...960w / 220w = 4.36 ( 436 % efficient )
...BUT...if the voltage is actually higher..which it almost certainly is... then it even MORE efficient than that !?
the output KILLED MY VOLT METERS... THE VOLTS ARE BIG.
I CAN DRAG THE ARCS OUT ABOUT 1 cm on the output...with purple fiery arcs whatever that means in voltage value. ( 50 mm = 60,000 volts... so 1 cm = __ ?)

& if its fooling the meter, then i'd just look like an idiot when moved away from it, so 2 amps input for fluctuating between 15 -25 amps output while further away from the NST is...STILL.. pretty SWEET, but really hard to accept lol
if the meter is EVEN CLOSE to right ID BE THRILLED, LET ALONE SEE 20 AMPS LIKE DON SAID IS INCREDIBLE...
You know what, im not trying to make any claims, just decided to build it BECAUSE IT LOOKED THE BEST & im simply sharing what im seeing on the meter...
& AGAIN the VARIAC CAN ONLY HANDLE 5 AMPS, i use to blow fuses all the time until it was hooked up correctly ;) Now its getting closer to juicy amp victory ...
I think anyway lol
i DONT KNOW WHAT MY OUTPUT VOLTS ARE BUT WILL DO A VID LATER TODAY I HOPE... im going to buy ANOTHER TWO meters today, just to try to read it on camera FOR YOU ALL :)

  • can you give a little more info on what all the components are?

  • @MrHydroben1

    1/2

    hehe, it's comically simple :)

-Allanson 120 volt ac NST with ground fault making 12,000 volts at 30ma ...360 watts at best...right?

    (12x3 & add the zeros:)

-string of 6 diodes at each terminal giving a total of 12,000 volts with half wave rectification (pulsing dc)

-going to 1 bottle capacitor just tap water

-outside of bottle cap goes to SG

-center of bottle cap goes to L1 (8 gauge tined copper high current speaker wire)

    .....

  • @MrHydroben1

    2/2

...but right now im playing with a 14 g solid copper wire, like house wiring for primary

-other side of L1 to end SG

-with or without welding rods for core (havent yet decided if they help)

-10-15 ft copper tubing for L2s

-high current diodes coming off L2 (works w/out any)

-center tap becomes neg, outer L2 are pos

-another SG is put between them with earth ground, then to the load

    ...just what you see :)

  • ....tighter that L2 is wound the better i think

& L1 im using right now has 100 turns, rather that 4 or 5 like typically seen

  • @MrHydroben1

    Did that help any??

  • @MrHydroben1

    ...& the 0-120volt Variac 5 amp max :)

see all

  • wouldn't one more isolation transformer wound to bring your voltage and a resistor get your output to usable power like 110v and o.u. killing 60 c.p.s. ? Your explanation of electron spin helped me a lot in understanding what really happens with center tap coils like Don Smith. Great work. Thank you and God bless your efforts.

  • @ovruni4458

thank man :) it was frustrating at first with ONE light to get lit, its definitely progress.

Still cant get it power just anything yet tho, it makes halogen bulbs REALLY HOT but with not as much light as youd think, prob the HV DC messing with it, i need to smooth & store it before use im sure now.

    thanks again:)

  • Just watched this replication all the way through to here - You've done a magnificent job IMHO - Many thanks and I'm looking forward to more of your good works on video.

  • I left a wide margin for what the efficiency really is, because i cant measure volts at the moment, soon tho.

It is AT LEAST from what we can see, lighting each of the 12 v lights fully, & ppl dont usually burn out their meters just by measuring volts.. so my burnt meter tells me that its in the hundreds, even one thousand volts wouldnt surprise me :)

    ‎...so at minimum the output is 48VDC x 20A(assumingcorrect)=960watts

    Input is 110VAC x 2A = 220watts

    960 / 220 = 4.36 ( 436 % efficient )
