This video is deceiving because the earmarked monies Palin is responding to are not for biomedical fruit fly research using D. melanogaster, but are rather for olive fruit fly pest control to protect the olive and olive oil industry in California. So it is not clear that Palin does not know that Drosophila is used for genetic research. One could legitimately question the public value of pest control for an industry whose contribution to the overall US economy is most likely miniscule.

FoKKKs is definitely not schoolyard, they are cynically pushing a pure capitalist message because they make a lot of money that way, which they do while they actively support and cheer killing a lot of people, most recently via Bolton in advocating letting Ling and Lee rot in North Korea.
And Rachel Maddow is also not "schoolyard", she makes thoughtful points and good arguments.

I can never understand why people on YT can't just have a conversation without getting insulting. I agree with all of your points bar Maddow; you like her, I don't. Why does that mean you have to attack me? Why does it mean I'm stupid and can't understand her? I know exactly what she's saying, I just think this style of commentary is a bit low grade and not that thoughtful at all.
