This is Bette Davis' best work and she was NEVER more beautiful as far as I'm concerned. I can hardly take my eyes off of her during this whole film. George Sanders always seemed to play the cad, but he was oh so good at it. He was never the best looking man in the room, but he was most certainly the most suave which made him quite appealing.

@Chardeaux1 Haha!! Brilliant! I love a good irony!... Too bad I didn't catch it myself. :D Thank you Chardeaux1!

Davis was the best actress ever. Monroe was charming in her small yet memorable part.

Marylin, she probably didn't even imagine at this point how big she was going to become

...of course Mr. Hannay might well respond to Jennifer that Anne Baxter spelled her name with a final "e," and was Frank Lloyd Wright's granddaughter, not daughter. So much for homework. Aside from that, this is an incredible picture with flawless acting and superb dialogue. Utterly magnificent.

So great. So true. You can just imagine this has occurred many a time in Hollywood....and elsewhere. Marilyn is hilarious and like everyone else ...is fantastic,

@monorailblue Don't forget Sweet Smell of Success and Ace in the Hole.

You guys gotta check out this movie on netflix. It's fucking funny, with quick and witty dialogue. Bette Davis is FABULOUS in this film. I became a huge fan after "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane". All About Eve might be a better film....and this clip doesn't do any justice. It's like this clip is completely out of context and no one will get it. Honestly, check out the whole film because it's fantastic. Very smart and glamorous at the same time.

; ) Bette and her cigarettes
I don't get all the "actors back then are better than the actors today" talk... lol!... Sounds like what Gloria Desmond said about the actresses during the 1950s... "We didn't need dialogue. We had faces." :p At least Billy Wilder thought it was silly...

"Fasten your seat belts, it's going to be a bumpy night" is the line of all lines in American cinema, delivered by the most iconic actress the world will EVER know. Everyone is great and say what you what about anyone, she is the archetype of an actor displaying all the necessary requirements. It's a sin she didn't win the Oscar for best actress that year, although she was nominated, but she was punished by The Academy. She even coined the term "Oscar" for God's sake. Thelma Ritter is amazing.
