In other words, the y is already there, in spades. The problem is how it's being distributed, who's getting it, and the colossal overhead involved in maintaining a for-profit system...

You already have that, Tommy. HMOs do it every day, just to guard their profits. And they don't just do it to the elderly, either.

have you watched this video at all? 31 trillion in the next handful of years if we do nothing, single payer will cost nowhere near this much, as things are going now 100% of our GDP is goig to have to go toward health care... HOW CAN WE PAY FOR THE STATUS QUO!
